Blk Women in Excellence is hosting their 3rd Annual Pitch Competition and they are inviting aspiring, new and existing Black female business owners to showcase their businesses for an opportunity to turn their business dreams into reality. Whether you are just starting or looking to grow, this competition is for you!
The Official Pitch Competition will be held on October 5, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (AST) at the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre, Saint Mary's University, 903 Robie St, Halifax, NS B3H 3C2.

Dalhousie University is looking for 10 early-stage start-ups that are developing innovative Med Tech, Clean Tech, Ocean Tech, and Ag Tech products to join the Emera Fall ideaBUILD Cohort.
This cohort is a 10-month rigorous program that runs from October to July and takes physical product ideas from design to operational prototype. Start-ups accepted into the program will receive $10,000 to support their product development.

๐ฐ Read: The Apex Invitational is celebrating its 50th anniversary
The Apex at Truro Golf Club is a celebration of Black golf in Canada.
Last week, our Marketing and Communications Manager - Nicole Jackson, joined in the 50th celebration of Apex International. This tournament, created by Darrell Maxwell in the early 1970s, has grown from a small gathering of 17 players to a major annual event with 120 competitors. The tournament showcases golfing talent and fosters community spirit with activities such as a softball game, banquet, nightly dances, and a Sunday BBQ. Over the years, the Apex Invitational has raised $113,000 for scholarships, supporting 141 municipal Black students since 2000. The tournamentโs inclusive spirit and commitment to honouring its legacy ensure a bright future for Black golfers in Nova Scotia.
