Tribe Network Updates: December 4th, 2024 🚀
King Charles III Coronation Medal from Senator Colin Deacon, Tribe visiting local schools, Upcoming Events & More!
“Your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give” - Alice Hocker
It’s been a busy week at Tribe, as usual, and at the heart of it all was the reminder that what we pour into others truly matters.
Receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal 🏅
Friday morning, a friend and mentor of mine Senator Colin Deacon stopped by Tribe to present me with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The medal is presented to citizens who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
In 2021 I had the opportunity to work with Senator Deacon, the African Canadian Senate Group and Abacus Data to publish the “Inclusive Entrepreneurship: Exploring the barriers facing Black Entrepreneurs” report.
Senator Deacon had the opportunity to meet the rest of the team, and we discussed the mission and vision of Tribe, the economic challenges and opportunities ahead for Canada, and the ways in which we can continue to support our founders.

One of the things I'm most proud of is the diverse talents of our team, and I welcome any chance to show that off. I'm honoured to receive such a recognition at this stage in my professional career, and I’m forever grateful for Colins’ continued support.
Capturing Our Story 📸
Later in the day, we got some team headshots taken. Thank you to Lens Method for making it happen. Stay tuned for the results because there were definitely some surprises in the mix (expect some goofy moments around our socials).

Unbound Media is working on a new brand video for Tribe — and the video is shaping up to be awesome, with moments that capture what we do, and who we do it for, and taps into the different personalities and energy that make Tribe what it is. Stay tuned!

Daneesha and Ramon visit local schools
Tribe has been making an effort to engage with learners at younger ages including Junior High and High School. Daneesha and Ramon recently stepped in as judges at the Amazing Shake competition on Wednesday at Armbrae Academy. The event was focused on encouraging kids as they learned how to network and engage in conversations with confidence. The day was a powerful reminder of how important it is to invest in the next generation. These small moments of mentorship are where the seeds of greatness are planted.

Reflecting on last week, I’m reminded that everything we do — from sharing our story, to mentoring and coaching the next generation, to supporting founders through complex situations — builds the foundation of something greater.
It’s a privilege to be a part of and help build a community that values connection, growth, and giving back.
