Tribe Network Updates: January 22, 2025 🚀
Our North Star, The Future of Jobs, Tribe Scholars, Events, Opportunities, and More!
Our North Star
There are many intangibles in our work: building community, creating role models, and giving people hope for a better future with economic prosperity. A North Star goal forces us to measure the tangible impact of our work over the years to come.
At the recent Tribe Leader’s Summit, we shared our North Star: our bold goal to generate $1,000,000,000 in economic impact for racialized entrepreneurs in our network by 2030.
Our Purpose remains to empower a community of racialized people pursuing technology, entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Future of Jobs
I recently reviewed The Future of Jobs Report from the World Economic Forum, and there are a few key takeaways I shared with the team, and I want to share them with you too—they’re directly connected to what we’re building at Tribe, and they could help you too.
In the report, there are critical skills highlighted like tech literacy, analytical thinking, and resilience, AI, and big data that are all ranked among the most important skills for 2030.
💡Nearly 39% of core worker skills will transform by 2030.
On top of that, 60% of workers will require reskilling in that same time frame.
It’s also worth noting that green jobs are growing rapidly and sustainability is becoming a critical focus.
The report goes on to underscore something you and I have always known—that innovation thrives when we create space for diverse voices.
💡96% of companies across North America adopted diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in 2024.
According to the report, the stat above has also shown that inclusive programs not only bridge skill gaps, but also boost innovation and adaptability.
At Tribe, we know that creating space for diverse talent isn’t just good practice—it’s essential for driving meaningful change, and smart makes good business sense.
That’s why we want to remain committed to fostering inclusive, forward-thinking initiatives that will prepare our community for what lies ahead — whether that’ll be through upskilling in tech, developing leadership, or showing our racialized founders how to lead in the green economy.
As we move through the new year, it’s becoming clear that the world of work is evolving quickly, and if we’re going to hit that North Star goal, we have to stay ahead of the curve. By continuing to build the community we’ve created together, we’re paving the way for a future where racialized entrepreneurs and founders can lead the charge in shaping industries and driving innovation.
